The Defense Department announced Tuesday afternoon that all sports at the service academies are temporarily canceled. The two big ones that statement affects is the sold-out Air Force-Navy game Saturday as well as Army's trip to Boston College. Before the Defense Department statement, Boston College vowed to do all it could to make Saturday's game happen. The game Air Force-Navy game is cheduled for Saturday at 11:30 a.m., at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium on CBS....

Rose Johnson spent a few nights in a property in the U.K. but wasn’t prepared for the intensive list of rules which came with it, penned by owner, Jonathan. Johnson, a comedian, writer and actor, posted snaps of the notes to Twitter last week, which have amassed more than 10,000 likes, saying: “Signs in the Airbnb I am currently staying in, a thread.” The tweets can be seen here....

Mark Gooch, 22, could spend the rest of his life in prison. Gooch and Sasha Krause, 27, lived hundreds of miles apart and did not know each other before the events surrounding her death took place. Both were raised in the Mennonite religion, but Krause remained dedicated to the church while Gooch ultimately rejected it and joined the U.S. Air Force. Krause was last seen alive in January 2020 at the church in her Mennonite community outside the New Mexico city of Farmington....

It's one of the reason's the Crimson Tide uniforms have remained virtually unaltered for the past half century. But beginning next week, the team will honor the late Mal Moore with special helmet decals. Moore, a former Crimson Tide player, assistant coach and athletic director, passed away in March at the age of 73. He is widely considered one of the msot importantly people in the history of Crimson Tide athletics, and was posthumously named 2013 Athletic Director of the Year by the Sports Business Daily....

George, an Alabama correctional officer who announced his bid against Ivey earlier this month, responded to a Thursday statement from Ivey, a Republican, in which she said that “it’s time to start blaming the unvaccinated folks” for rising COVID-19 cases. “Let’s be crystal clear about this issue,” Ivey said in Birmingham on Thursday. “The new cases of COVID are because of unvaccinated folks. Almost 100 percent of the new hospitalizations are with unvaccinated folks....
