Officers responded to a report about loud music on Brewton Street in Andalusia on Monday night. In a news release, Andalusia Police Chief Paul Hudson said that officers discovered a party taking place at the house with up to 50 people in attendance. “When officers arrived, they found a party of about 40 to 50 people,” Hudson said. “They also smelled an odor of marijuana.” Officers discovered Melanie Nicole Chambers, who was renting the home, hosting a birthday party for one of her children, according to AL....

“The party does not want Lisa Murkowski to be a Republican candidate,” said Babcock, who also works on the GOP State Central Committee, according to the Associated Press. Babcock’s statements came after the Alaska GOP voted to censure Murkowski in a 53-17 vote on Saturday, the outlet reported. The censure followed Murkowski’s vote to convict former President Donald Trump during his second impeachment trial last month. “It went further than censure, which was strong,” Babcock added on Tuesday....

Jones was ordered to pay $45.2 million in punitive damages to Sandy Hook parents Neil Heslin and Scarlett Lewis at the conclusion of his Austin, Texas, defamation trial on Friday. Murdaugh was arrested at a drug facility in Florida, where his lawyers said that he was recovering for the past six weeks after claiming that he was shot in the head on a road by his home. Murdaugh was charged with two felony counts of obtaining property by false pretenses. The Murdaugh family said that Gloria Satterfield, who was Murdaugh’s housekeeper for decades, died weeks after she tripped over their dog, causing lasting injuries that led to her eventual passing....

Murdaugh, 53, was indicted Thursday on 21 new charges that accuse him of running seven schemes between 2016 and 2020 to cheat his clients out of portions of their settlement money. He would do so by telling clients that their settlements were smaller than expected or that they had to pay additional fees for services like accident reconstruction, according to court documents. Prosecutors said that he would then send the extra portions of settlement money to a fake account....

The Rangers called the move precautionary after Rios left their game against the New York Yankees. Rios, considered a potential trade possibility before Thursday’s non-waiver trading deadline, stayed in the game to run after getting hit by a pitch thrown by Hiroki Kuroda in the third inning.
