Boone may end up switching positions, as the 49ers need a right tackle to replace the retired Anthony Davis. Davis is one of four 49ers who have retired since the end of the 2014 season.
Boone, a starter since 2011, also skipped voluntary OTAs last season because he sought a new contract. The team reworked his deal, which runs through the 2015 season.
