After football legend Fran Tarkenton ripped McCarron for criticizing Saban and the program, McCarron responded, going on Tuscaloosa Tide 99.1 FM, claiming that his comments were taken out of context.

It’s interesting that he blames the media for taking his comments out of context when he readily admits that he mis-worded what he meant. Maybe it was taken out of context because McCarron didn’t say what he meant.

I mis-worded it last night and I’ll admit that. What I meant, and I give an example right after I said that, was a vocal leader. That’s what I should have said. Vocal leader. I mentioned last night that they have plenty of leaders on the team. I really don’t see what the fuss was about. People are on the internet, on Twitter talking about me bashing the team. I never once have I ever bashed our team.

Regardless, this issue is small potatoes. Alabama lost on the road to a very good team. The Crimson Tide are not going to fall apart.
