The goal came in the third period of Lake Erie’s 5-1 win over the Chicago Wolves and Berra became just the 11th goalie in AHL history to score a goal.
Berra is trying to work his way back to the NHL after being sent down to the AHL earlier this month by the Colorado Avalanche. The Avalanche coach Patrick Roy, a former NHL goalie himself, criticized Berra for not being hungry before sending him to Lake Erie.
