While there are plenty of notable performers on Saturday’s card, Fight for the Fallen has a lot of in-ring debuts. Whether they are tag teams or a single performer’s first one-on-one match, fans will get to see a slew of different wrestlers and styles.
In May, AEW’s Double or Nothing event started the company’s narrative, which developed during June’s Fyter Fest show. Some of those threads will continue into Fight for the Fallen, but there’s a lot of new angles happening on Saturday too so many of these matches are hard to predict.
But we’re going to try anyway. Here’s our predictions on how each match will shake out.
SONNY KISS VS PETER AVALON (WITH LEVA BATES)
The Librarians gimmick didn’t go over too well at Fyter Fest, but as we saw on Being the Elite the Young Bucks are “all in” on both Leva Bates and Peter Avalon in these roles. Whether it’s a troll job or not, the Librarians are here for the foreseeable future.
That doesn’t mean they’ll win. This is Sonny Kiss’ first one-on-one match with AEW and it’ll be a good showcase for this relative newcomer. While this is also Peter Avalon’s first match, he at least was involved in Bates’ match with Allie at Fyter Fest.
It seems that The Librarians will continue their losing ways on Saturday.
Winner - Sonny Kiss
JIMMY HAVOC, JOEY JANELLA AND DARBY ALLIN VS MJF, SHAWN SPEARS AND SAMMY GUEVARA
All six men are extremely talented and this match will give all of them a chance to grab the spotlight. However, the big story going into this match is the growing hostilities between MJF and Shawn Spears after Spears (formerly known as Tye Dillinger) hit Cody with a chair at Fyter Fest.
I can’t see MJF and Spears getting along, leaving the team of Havoc, Janella and Allin to pick up the victory.
Winner- Havoc/Janella/Allin
BRANDI RHODES VS ALLIE
What started off as an authority figure trying to put down the talent, transformed into a more personal feud that leaned more into Brandi’s real life history. While both Brandi and Allie are not hostile towards each other anymore (for now at least) I feel Brandi doesn’t need to win the match to prove that she belongs on the women’s roster.
Winner- Allie
HANGMAN PAGE VS KIP SABIAN
Kip Sabian had a great showing at Double or Nothing, but it feels like Hangman Page’s winning streak will continue as he builds towards his championship match against Chris Jericho.
While Jericho will be at Fight for the Fallen, and could cost Page the match, I think AEW will want to keep Hangman strong. Jericho can run in after the bell for a post-match beatdown or something.
Winner- Hangman Page
DARK ORDER VS ANGELICO AND JACK EVANS VS LUCHASAURUS AND JUNGLE BOY
AEW is really trying to make tag team wrestling a priority and this last-minute addition to the Fight for the Fallen card will showcase three tag teams.
Angelico and Jack Evans took the loss to Best Friends at Double or Nothing. Luchasaurus and Jungle Boy have had singles experience at AEW ,but this will be the first time they team up. This match also marks the in-ring debut of Dark Order, formerly Super Smash Bros. They have set their creepy sights on Best Friends so it would benefit them to get a victory here for their inevitable match against Chuckie T and Trent Beretta.
Winner- Dark Order
SCU VS THE LUCHA BROS
Could be match of the night, but both tag teams are looking to get victories after suffering defeats at Fyter Fest. While SCU has been great in all of their matches at AEW so far, I feel the Lucha Bros need some momentum heading into All Out.
It’s a toss up, but I’ll go with Pentagon and Fenix.
Winner- The Lucha Bros
KENNY OMEGA VS CIMA
While this match feels predictable, both men can put on a great match. There’s not much to say here as Omega is going into All Out to take on Jon Moxley so he’ll need to have a strong singles victory under his belt.
Winner- Kenny Omega
THE YOUNG BUCKS VS CODY AND DUSTIN RHODES
This is the hardest to predict. The Young Bucks continue to roll across AEW winning their matches at Double or Nothing and Fyter Fest. Considered the best tag team in the world, Matt and Nick Jackson are going up against Cody and Dustin Rhodes.
WWE fans may remember the team of Goldust and Stardust, but this is a new incarnation of that team. It would be cool to see the Rhodes brothers pick up the victory but I feel this may be Dustin’s swan song.
Winner- The Young Bucks
AEW’s Fight for the Fallen is scheduled for Saturday, July 13.
