After the massively popular release of the post-apocalyptic cat adventure Stray, gamers were obviously hungry for more cats in their life, and they’re getting it with Nine Noir Lives, which follows a feline detective who finds himself smack dab in the middle of a harrowing murder case.

Meet Cuddles Nutterbutter, the hard-boiled cat detective who’s out to solve a murder mystery in the city of Meow Meow Furrington. Caught between two different crime families with colorful histories, our detective must interrogate potential suspects. But he’s also got to use his tongue to lick them, too. And everything else, for that matter.

Cuddles is up against something big, as he has to investigate something that threatens to tear apart the Montameeuw and Catulet families. While navigating a variety of lush environments and speaking to NPCs with full voice acting, players will have to help Cuddles and his assistant Tabby Marshmallow before another crime is committed.

Nine Noir Lives Release Date: When is Nine Noir Lives Available?

Nine Noir Lives is currently set for a September 7, 2022, release date. That’s about four weeks away, so you have plenty of time to get ready to jump in.

But by the same token, that can be a long time to wait for big cat fans. Luckily, you can try a demo of the game right now.

Head over to Steam to download the free Nine Noir Lives demo right now to jump in and get an early glimpse at Cuddles Nutterbutter’s detective odyssey right now. The demo should give you a quick taste (literally) of what to expect from the 25 different characters with full voice acting, the city of Meow Meow Furrington, and the world of Furth. Oh, and there are plenty of puzzles to solve, too.

Nine Noir Lives is a PC-only title, and there haven’t been any announcements that indicate it may be coming to additional platforms in the future. While that could very well be the case, it’s currently a PC exclusive. If Stray’s popularity is any indication, however, we’ll see the cat-centric game theme continue and additional developers will produce more meow-tastic titles.
