On Monday we anxiously make sense of all the injury, activation and suspension statuses for NFL Week 3.
Adrian Peterson
Jamaal Charles
Charles left after four yards on two carries before Knile Davis managed 79 yards and two scores on 3.9 per carry. Owners who failed to handcuff Charles can now scramble to claim or trade for possibly a month of full-time Davis production.
Josh Gordon
Gordon now faces just a 10-game suspension and has already been cleared to return to the team facility. It’s also looking more likely that a competent Brian Hoyer will remain under center at that point.
AJ Green
Mohamed Sanu delivered Cincy’s big play in the pass game Sunday and Andy Dalton will need fantasy waiver-wire receivers to step up until Green returns from a toe injury, likely after the bye.
Knowshon Moreno
Moreno led the NFL in rushing Week 1 before quickly exiting Week 2. Matters quickly got worse for Miami when Lamar Miller also hit the sideline, and now they’re calling up Daniel Thomas.
Vernon Davis
Davis started the season with top-three TE potential for fantasy owners, but an ankle injury Sunday dampens the optimism and lands a major blow to San Fran’s offense. Vance McDonald appears next in line.
Alshon Jeffery
Jeffery struggled to 47 yards on six targets as the hamstring issue robbed him of his usual burst. Jay Cutler leaned heavily on Brandon Marshall and Martellus Bennett. Good news is Chicago doesn’t play until next Monday night.
Doug Martin
Martin’s reason for leaving the game Week 1 has been questioned and his Week 2 injury absence made way for Bobby Rainey’s 174 total yards.
Robert Griffin III and DeSean Jackson
The enticing big-play combo made for interesting sleeper talk heading into August but that’s only diminished each week since the start of preseason play and certainly into Week 3. Injuries land the latest below to D-Jax and, to a far greater degree, RGIII.
Ryan Mathews
Mathews suffered an MCL sprain but that’s far from the worst possible news that could come from a carting off. Donald Brown and Danny Woodhead should factor even more in the Chargers offense.
Carson Palmer
Nerve damage leaves Palmer and the Cardinals’ major weapons in limbo.
Mark Ingram
It’s a shame that the 2011 first-rounder will sit a month for a hand injury after finally hitting his stride late last season. A promising performance in the wild-card win over Phillly and a strong 2013 start create higher expectations when the Saints back returns.
Eric Decker
Decker tallied 63 yards and touchdown, nearly collecting a deep bomb on an overthrow from Geno Smith in the second half. His fantasy value has remained solid in a Jets uniform.
