Hernandez is currently awaiting trial, as he has been accused of murdering Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado in Boston in 2012. At a pretrial hearing, prosecutors allege two tattoos on the former tight end’s body could be proof of his guilt.

The Globe notes defense attorney Ronald S. Sullivan Jr.’s response, which was to basically say tattoos aren’t an admission to a crime.

The tattoo artist also drew a semi-automatic handgun and a spent shell casing and a puff of smoke, Haggan said. The image, the prosecutor said, precisely matches what happened to Bradley, who was shot once by a semiautomatic handgun. A single spent shell casing was recovered by Florida authorities at the scene.

Hernandez is already carrying a sentence of life in prison without a possibility of parole for his 2013 murder of Odin Lloyd. He’s also accused of shooting Alexander Bradley in 2013. Bradley allegedly was in the car at the time of the alleged double homicide.
