Joshua Eric Butcher, 41, was charged with first-degree murder after Sunday’s shooting at a Safeway grocery store in Fairbanks. Police said he turned himself in minutes after the shooting. He is being held at the Fairbanks Correctional Center. Butcher was appointed a public defender and appeared Monday afternoon for arraignment. According to a criminal complaint signed by Fairbanks police investigator Caleb Reuter, authorities allege Butcher fired multiple shots with a 9mm semiautomatic handgun at a man outside the store....
